Summary

Our Manufacturing Operations teams are the people that make our products. We work in the manufacturing plants with a “Safety First, Quality Always” mindset striving for continuous improvement. We work in the local plant linked to our global manufacturing network to ensure the highest quality of raw materials, intermediates and finished products. Our company's Animal Health, Millsboro, DE is a Biotechnology Center of Excellence that manufactures, fills, packages and distributes vaccines for animals. Our site is accountable for mammalian, insect and avian cell culture production, live bird vaccine production, embryonated egg vaccine production, roller bottle vaccine production, bioreactor vaccine production and down-stream processing (water in oil emulsions, aseptic filling, lyophilization, etc.). At all times, following Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures and adhering to all safety and company policies, perform duties assigned by department supervision.

 

Responsibilities

Maintain a clean work environment, including floors, walls, tables, and equipment.
Prepare, clean, and sterilize glassware and equipment for use.
Assist in equipment setup, operation, and aseptic procedures such as product formulation, fill equipment operations, and environmental monitoring.
Perform formulation, filling, labeling, capping, packaging, and visual inspection of vaccines.
Maintain accurate and concurrent records, including charts, log books, and documentation.
Follow all safety guidelines and company policies to ensure a safe work environment.
Participate in training new team members and provide process improvement input.
Report all unusual or non-routine occurrences while performing tasks.
Handle hazardous waste management in accordance with proper training.
Assist with non-aseptic procedures, such as poultry tissue harvesting or waste processing.
Review and assist in developing SOPs and production records.
Enter technical data into required systems and monitor laboratory supplies.
Attend training sessions, workshops, and meetings as required.
 

Qualifications:

High School Diploma/GED with industry-related lab experience OR Bachelor’s degree with industry or academic lab experience.
 

Required Experience & Skills:

1+ year of laboratory experience.
Ability to apply knowledge and skills to complete assigned work.
Strong problem-solving abilities and adherence to existing procedures.
Ability to manage tasks within set timeframes.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience in aseptic cleanroom behaviors (preferred).
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and conversions.
Ability to stand for long periods of time.
 

Preferred Experience & Skills:

Laboratory experience in an academic or industry setting.
Background in biology or chemistry.
Mechanical aptitude.
 

Additional Information

Work Schedule: Flexible schedule required, including potential overtime, holidays, and weekends based on business needs.
Shift Rotation: Work hours will rotate throughout the month. Employees will typically work two adjacent shifts each week.
1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
2nd Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
3rd Shift: 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM
4th Shift: 12:00 PM – 8:30 PM
